The Istituto Dante Alighieri began its activity in 1923 and, throughout the years, it has become a worldwide and well-known institution. The Istituto Dante Alighieri is recognized by the Ministry of Public Education and cooperates with DITALS Centre of University for Foreigners of Siena. Our didactic planning follows the guidelines of the European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Our didactic method is the result of many years experience in teaching Italian to non-native speakers and even if the approach is strictly communicative, the student is encouraged to express himself while considering the linguistic and grammatical characteristics of the Italian Language.

The Institute is staffed by mother tongue professionals, highly qualified (all of them are certified  teachers of Italian as a foreign language: ex. DITALS Certification or Master Itals Certification) with a long and specific experience.

An initial placement test, taken before the course begins, establishes the student's level of Italian. At the end of the course, students are tested in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. A “Certificate of Studies"  is given to the students who have passed the exam and have previously paid the required fee. The "Certificates of Studies" have been calibrated on the Levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (A1 -  A2 - B1 - B2 - C1 - C2).
